FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything about buying, paying for and receiving your domain.
Purchasing
How do I buy a domain on DomainClimb?
Open the domain page and choose Buy now to pay the listed price, or Make an offer to negotiate. Checkout happens on GoDaddy (including Afternic) or Spaceship.
Can I make an offer below the listed price?
Yes. Choose Make an offer on the domain page, or use the contact form. We review every offer and reply by email with an answer or a counter-offer.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The listed or agreed price is the price of the domain, and GoDaddy or Spaceship shows the full total before you pay. After the transfer, your registrar charges its usual yearly renewal fee.
Can I pay in installments?
Listings are paid in full at checkout. If you need a different arrangement, contact us with the domain name and we will tell you what is possible.
Registrar transfers
Which registrars can I use?
Any accredited registrar works, including GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Porkbun and Spaceship. Tell us where you want the domain: if it is the registrar we use, we push it; otherwise we send you the Auth Code.
How long does a transfer take?
We complete the push or deliver the Auth Code within 1–3 business days of payment. Registrar processing and the steps on your side, such as accepting a push or entering the Auth Code, can add time outside our control.
What is an Auth Code (EPP code)?
It is a password that authorizes moving a domain to another registrar. If your domain moves between registrars, we send you this code and you start the transfer at your registrar.
Will the transfer cause downtime?
No. The domain is not in use when you buy it, so there is nothing to interrupt. You can point it to your website as soon as it is in your account.
Payment safety
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Payment is processed by GoDaddy (including Afternic) or Spaceship, not by DomainClimb, so we never receive or store your card details.
What if the transfer does not complete?
If we cannot deliver a domain you paid for, you get a full refund through the registrar that processed your payment. Once the push is made or the Auth Code is delivered, the sale is final.
Which payment methods are accepted?
That depends on GoDaddy or Spaceship, not on us. Both accept major credit and debit cards, and their checkout shows every method available to you.
Domain push procedures
What is a domain push?
A push moves a domain from one account to another at the same registrar. It is the fastest way to take ownership, with no Auth Code and no registrar transfer.
What do you need from me for a push?
Your registrar name and the account ID or email of your account there. For a GoDaddy push, for example, we need your GoDaddy customer number and email.
How do I accept a pushed domain?
Some registrars add the domain to your account automatically. Others send you an email to accept the push. Check your inbox and your registrar dashboard after we confirm the push.
What if my registrar does not support a push?
We use a standard registrar transfer instead. We unlock the domain and send you the Auth Code to start the transfer at your registrar.
